Umoja wetu sauti yetu – Our Unity, Our Voice
A Dawn of Dignity, Power, and Prosperity
For nearly two decades, Pambazuko La Wanawake Magharibi (PALAWAMA) has stood at the forefront of transformative change for women and girls across Western and Nyanza regions of Kenya. Rooted in the 2024–2028 Strategic Plan, a bold, participatory roadmap crafted through over 120 community consultations, 17 founding member groups, and 10,000+ grassroots voices, our programs are not charity. They are justice in action we employ the Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA).
We have presence in nine counties:
Migori | Nyamira | Homa Bay | Kisumu | Siaya | Busia | Bungoma | Kakamega | Vihiga
Every program is designed to dismantle systemic barriers, amplify silenced voices, and build sustainable futures all while aligning with Kenya’s Constitution (2010), Vision 2030, SDGs, and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

A Human Rights-Based, Evidence-Driven Approach
How We Work
Every initiative is powered by:
- Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA) – Rights, not favors Community Ownership – Solutions designed with women, not for them
- Multi-Sector Partnerships – County governments, police, health facilities, schools, faith leaders
- Data & Learning – Real-time MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning) systems
