PALAWAMA joined government institutions, development partners, civil society organizations, and community members in Kisumu County to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict under the theme “From Prevention to Justice.”The commemoration provided a platform to raise awareness about the devastating effects of sexual violence in conflict settings, advocate for survivor-centered approaches, and strengthen collective efforts towards prevention, accountability, and access to justice. The event reaffirmed the importance of partnerships in addressing gender-based violence and protecting the dignity, safety, and rights of all individuals. It also highlighted the need to create safe spaces where survivors are heard, supported, and empowered. At PALAWAMA, we remain committed to advancing community-led solutions, amplifying survivor voices, and working alongside stakeholders to build communities free from violence.Together, we can transform awareness into action and action into lasting change.Because every person deserves to live in safety, dignity, and peace.
