Pammbazuko la wanawake Magharibi is a women’s movement that was established in 2006 but attained its legal status under Ministry of State for National Heritage and Culture as a National non government organization with registration number Op. 218/05/11-0425/7251 in 2011.
The organization’s aim is to work towards ensuring human rights and justice for women and young vulnerable people as well as creating an inclusive environment for the local communities in Western Kenya and Nyanza regions through a network of fifteen (15) community member groups with an average of 50 members per group, and the groups in Migori, Nyamira, Homa Bay, Kisumu, Siaya, Busia, Bungoma, Kakamega and Vihiga with a major focus on Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA) which emphasizes empowerment of women who are economically disempowered as well as socially excluded.
Pambazuko aims at reaching Ten thousand (10,000) women, and Seven thousand (7,000) Youth per year.
