ACHIEVEMENTS

Over the past years Pambazuko, through voluntary actions and community efforts, has successfully implemented the following activities.

  1. Built capacity of the women and youth on the existing laws on gender and leadership through dissemination of legal documents like the National Women’s Charter, Political party’s Act, Election’s Act and Transition to devolved government act.
  2. Established five report desks for coordination and addressing of issues related to injustices to women and young people.
  3. Follow up on court cases on violence against women and child defilement.
  4. Built the capacity of the community on the rights of the girl child by organizing campaigns and workshops on anti FGM campaigns in Kuria, Cheptais, and Kisii.
  5. Ensured reproductive health rights for women and girls, 45 women have been empowered with knowledge of making reusable sanitary pads to cater for the needy girls and for Income generation.
  6. Built capacity of over 2000 women on women rights and women leadership.
  7. Lobbied for women farmers’ rights through campaigns in partnership with other organizations such as the Kenya Human Rights Commission and the Sugar Campaign for Change.
